KARIN’S KIDS SUMMERSCHOOL CLUB 2012
Karin’s Kids Summer School Club is waiting for you with an atractive , interactive program that will have your children loving summer! Our program includes :
  • Thematic visits to museums and sightseeing
  • Creative ateliers in partnership with diverse cultural institutions
  • Watching different plays at the theater , putting on mini drama and mime shows
  • Games and re-creative activities , hands-on experiments and activities to promote general education.
THEMES AND LESSONS

The themes of activities in the Karin’s Kids Summer School Club were created to stimulate and satisfy the urge and curiosty for the new in children , and at the same time keeping in mind that it is summer and children love to play outside and relax. Our Summer School program will make sure your child will not only have fun, but learn while having fun! With the help of stimulating activities, uncanny experiments , hands –on projects , games, competitions and celebrations, and the wonderful weather of summer , it is the perfect summer recipe!

Week 1 : “Let’s get summer started! “
Activities :
  • Face painting : “ I love summer colours “
  • Bubble Blowing: “I’m having fun with balloons”
  • Water safety tips: Watch Safety Tips Videos , Subacvatic Mini-Experiments .
  • Vizit the Grigore Antipa museum
  • Colour of the Day Party
Week 2: “ We wear our tradition”
Activities :
  • Visit the Museum “ Muzeul Taranului Roman”
  • Learn about different costumes from throughout the world and view videos with examples
  • “Little designers”: We are little designers that make clothes for our dolls or favorite stuffed animal
  • “Toga Day Party” –We will time travel to Ancient Greece, wear togas, and make our own yummy grape juice!
Week 3: “Universe in a Jar”
Activities :
  • Our Solar System” –Science Club
  • Planets Project : We will make our own planets and constellation
  • Visit the Astronomical Observatory
Week 4: “Re-usables : Recycling Week”
Activities :
  • The importance of recycling- watch PPT, learn about selective recycling, what to and not to recycle.
  • “Our funny re-usable clothing”: It’s going to be loads of fun to make our own clothing from recyclable materials. What funky design can we come up with?
  • - “Nature walk”: We will find rocks, wash and paint them to have as a keepsake to remind us of our beautiful earth.
Week 5: “ The Wonderfull World of Theatre”
Activities :
  • “Movie Slumber Party at Karin’s “ : Projection of most loved stories
  • “ Guess who is under the mask”: We will compete to see who can guess what person is hiding behind the character’s mask!
  • Muppets Show : We will create our own muppets, and tell a story that we love!
Week 6 “ I’m little in my big city”
Activities :
  • Bucharest’s history for little ones : We will watch and learn about the history of the city we live in .
  • “Wondering through the city” :We will take walks and see what wonders we will find in our city.
  • Important monuments: Sightseeing close to home!
7) “I’m a big cook now”
Activities:
  • Healty Food Pyramid: The benefits of a healthy diet really stack up! We will learn what to eat so we can grow big and healthy!
  • My picnic basket: What food goes in my picnic basket?
  • Cooking healthy food: We will experiment in the kitchen and see what healthy snacks we can prepare, practice makes perfect!
  • Sport & Health: Simple rules for a healthy lifestyle
8) “We love our Earth”
Activities:
  • “ Plants &Environment”: We will plant flowers , one big step for a green Earth!
  • “Celebrating in different cultures”
  • “Weatherman”: Get ready to be on Karin’s TV! Who is the best weatherman?
9) “Inventions kids love”
Activities:
  • My favourite shape of kite: Let’s get ready to make our very own kite!
  • Kite Day: “ My Kite Can Fly Higher” Competition.
  • “Let your creativity run wild”: What crazy invention will you come up with?
